Sani Intervention
Introduction
Sam’s Story
The COVID-19 pandemic led to an increase in parents’ concerns over the buildup and spread of harmful pathogens on children’s sporting equipment. As a parent with a student-athlete son, Sam recognized that there was an opportunity to help mitigate this concern through the sanitation of equipment using a specialized ozone machine.
He had purchased the ozone machine (Sani Sport) from a local company with the hopes of providing sanitation services for parents and eventually law enforcement, military personnel, and hospitals.
He approached me to help create a website and branding for his sanitation service allowing his customers to book sanitation services online.

Sani Intervention’s branding would demonstrate safety, trust, and reliability allowing its users to work safe, play safe, so they can be safe. These values were represented by using a minimalistic gray-toned colour scheme to create exude a sense of power and sophistication, so parents are able to openly trust that their child’s health is of our utmost concern.
Prototyping
As a relatively new service dealing with an unprecedented virus, I wanted to ease parents’ concerns by providing:
Detailed information about the sanitation service
COVID safe measures to drop off and pick up their equipment
The process of the sanitation service
Sam’s background as a parent and small business owner
By educating and alleviating concerns, I hoped to build trust to help increase conversion and repeat purchase of the service.
Learnings
Legal Claims
When providing information on the effectiveness of eliminating pathogens particularly COVID, I had to do a lot of research from both the manufacture’s site and local government agencies, to ensure the accuracy of the claims.
Working collaboratively
Due to social distancing guidelines, this project had to be completed remotely, which encouraged both my client and me to work even more collaboratively. Creating shared drives, educating my client on my creative process, creating a project map, and setting deadlines allowed the project to be completed smoothly and on time.
